Apologies

Soooo... Its been a while. One day I thought I could make it famous with a blog, made it, wrote it, and left it for... oh, a long time?  apologise to ten people who strayed and saw, but I intend to start back up. Wish me luck!

Scott Pilgrim VS The World
I loved this movie. Very funny, new, clever, and just fantastic. I was never into the old Nintendo stuff, but for any 1990's kid, this is brilliant. The graphics of the gaming references and fight scenes were pitch perfect, the acting really brought you into the story and engaged you and it was edited to its prime, with a few hiccups, and I really liked it.
But, when you scratch away the surface, you can also see something else. The story was a simple "fighting for the love of your life" type thing, even if it was encrusted in a classic gaming feel. There were a couple of bumps along the way, but most important of all, it was aimed at too specific a crowd. If your forty or older, you may not know what's going, and you mightn't be able to truly appreciate it for the gem it is to me, so, if you were born after the 70's, this is a recommended movie, if you were born before and your not a big fan of movies, then, its probably not for you, however, if you like your movies, see this. I loved it.

Just in case you were wondering... oh. Wait. No one there. Well anyway, just in case you want to know how I judge the 5 categories its relatively simple.

  1. Graphics: I judge graphics on how the awe inspiring scenes, the animation, the use of 3D effects and how real it looks.
  2. Acting: This isn't really acting. I don't know why I called it that. But it's staying. Anyway, I do judge the acting, but how the actor makes you fell for him or her. The emotions, or the general goosebumps you feel throughout the movie.
  3. Sound and General Editing: This is how real the movie sounds, but also the gloss finish of the movie. Did the crew just film it and throw it together for us to watch, or did they get a toothbrush and clean out every nook and cranny before going to the silver screen...
  4. Story: A mon avis, it's the big one... How does the story progress, is it complicated, showing the story from more than one persons point of view? Or does it go straight for the finish line like a Disney movie. Its very hard for children's movies to get marked high for this category, as I just feel their all the same.
  5. Genre Overview: How does the comedy make you laugh? How does the tragedy make you cry? How does it work? You have to take a step back for this one, but it's pretty important.
Mark each of those bad boy's out of twenty, add them all together, and bobatity boobity, you got your mark out of a hundred. I'll always explain my reasons for the marks I give them though, so don't worry about me marking a film down cause' I don't like an actor.
So, creating a blog. This'll be a fun new experience for me. Will people actually listen to me? No, that would mean they are interested in what I have to say, and that's just stupid. However, if you are fooled by the shiny set-up on this site, then welcome, enjoy, and I hope you find this helpful. Eoin out.
